AHLA statement on reintroduction of No Hidden FEES Act

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) celebrates today’s reintroduction of the No Hidden FEES Act by Representatives Young Kim (R-Calif.) and Kathy Castor (D-Fla.), with original cosponsors Representative Russell Fry (R-S.C.) and Kevin Mullin (D-Calif.).

“Today’s reintroduction of the No Hidden FEES Act is another important step toward a single federal standard for fee display. No matter where consumers shop for and book lodging, they deserve transparency with consistent, upfront pricing,“ said AHLA President and CEO Rosanna Maietta. “This legislation, along with its Senate companion, is set to establish a single federal standard for mandatory fee display which will ensure guests everywhere can make informed decisions when booking lodging.”  READ MORE >


State of the Industry: Hotels face rising costs and flattening growth, but new travel trends provide optimism

AHLA statement on the introduction of the HOTEL Act

“The HOTEL Act recognizes the crucial role hotels play in the fight against human trafficking, and we are proud to support this important legislation,” said AHLA Interim President & CEO Kevin Carey. “We look forward to working with Reps. Smith and Krishnamoorthi and lawmakers across the House and Senate to pass this legislation.”

The Halting of Trafficking and Exploitation in Lodging Act, or the HOTEL Act would encourage federal workers traveling for business to stay at hotels with anti-human trafficking programs. READ BILL >
